I Am Williams is all about giving voice to individual identities and affirming that the college exists for all of us—that we can, every one of us, “claim Williams.”
I Am Williams is a photographic exhibition of the faces of Williams as well as a historical record of the college. The project grew out of the Diversity Initiatives of 2004. To date, more than 350 students, faculty, staff, and alumni have participated in I Am Williams, lending their voices to the project by writing short statements of identity to accompany their photos.
With posters hanging in physical spaces across campus—and with this website, which is a work in progress—we now have the beginnings of a living, evolving collection of the individuals who, together, form the Williams community.
We urge you to take the time to wander through the entire I Am Williams collection. (We’re a fascinating group!) But you can also search here if you need to find someone specific. We’re working on importing people from earlier photo shoots, so stay tuned!
