My mom corrects me when I say I am going home. She says home is where my family, my childhood, my lifelong friends coexist.
But as I drive into our beloved purple valley, I smile at
the beautiful melding
of familiar and unknown.

I smile at friends I have made and so many still to meet. I smile as I think of myself fifteen years ago, when I first arrived, and at how much of who I am today is Williams.
Home is where the heart is.

I smile because I am home.
